The Virtue Post
The Virtue Post is a correspondence-style subscription that invites families to slow down together and explore enduring human virtues — how we recognize them, experience them, practice them, and gradually become them.
-
Not in the usual sense. There is a thoughtful educational philosophy and structure beneath The Virtue Post, but families do not experience it as lessons to complete or a workbook to finish. It arrives more like an ongoing correspondence — a shared family study and a quiet invitation to becoming.
The aim is not behavior management. It is to help children begin noticing where the virtues already appear in life and to consider, from within, how they want to embody them.
-
Character education often focuses on an important question: How do we help children act well? The Virtue Post adds another: Who are we becoming?
Virtues certainly shape behavior, but they also shape how we think, what we notice, what we value, and eventually what we choose when no one is directing us. The aim is character education beyond outward compliance — toward inner development, self-awareness, meaning, reverence, connection, and integrity.
This study should not feel like more school. It makes room for a different kind of education: the lifelong work of becoming a human being.
What arrives?
One mailing arrives through the post each month, with correspondence to open over the weeks that follow.
The letters gather stories, symbols, observations, and practices around a single virtue — creating a small recurring ritual of attention, presence, and growing together.
One study. Three ways of encountering it.

Beginning with Menagerie
The Virtue Post is beginning with Menagerie, created especially for children ages 7–9.
Our first three virtues — Courage, Kindness, and Patience — are being shared with a small group of families as a founding pilot. These first mailings will help us learn how children and families actually experience The Virtue Post before it grows.
Introducing Atelier | Ages 10–13
Atelier is an invitation to explore the virtues through philosophy, timeless literature, allegorical art, and questions worth considering.
Designed for children entering the age of inquiry, each mailing encourages them to think more deeply, examine different perspectives, and discover how the virtues are already present in their own lives.
We are inviting 10 families to participate in a complimentary three-month pilot, exploring Courage, Kindness, and Patience in exchange for honest, constructive feedback.
